The FAG 51314 axial deep-groove ball bearing, with main dimensions of 70 × 125 × 40 mm, accommodates single-direction axial forces during operation.
The 51314 axial deep-groove ball bearing is designed for pure axial loads in a single direction. The bearing supports shafts on one side and guides them in the axial direction. FAG manufactures this rolling bearing from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) in tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1). A sheet steel cage guides the rolling elements evenly in the raceways of the shaft and housing rings. This design is suitable for operating temperatures ranging from –30 to +150 degrees.
It is used in bearing arrangements where only axial loads occur and the shaft must be guided axially. Typical applications are found in general mechanical engineering in purely axial guidance systems without radial forces. Due to its design, this type of bearing cannot accommodate radial forces. As the bearing is not angularly adjustable, the design requires perpendicular and flat contact surfaces on the shaft and housing.
When installing the bearing, the installation direction of the shaft flange and the housing flange must be observed precisely. The shaft flange has a 70 mm bore and rotates with the shaft, whilst the housing flange rests in the housing. This scope of supply comprises the axial deep-groove ball bearing only, without any washers. A minimum axial load or preload prevents the rolling elements from lifting off the raceways during operation.
This roller bearing is designed to support only axial loads from a single direction. It is not intended for radial loads. If transverse forces also occur in an application, these must be supported by separate radial bearings.
The main dimensions are a bore diameter of 70 mm, an external diameter of 125 mm and a width of 40 mm. These values determine the installation space required on the shaft and within the bearing housing.
FAG manufactures the bearing shells and rolling elements from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6). The integrated cage, which guides the rolling elements, is made from pressed sheet steel.
The roller bearing is designed for a temperature range of -30 to +150 degrees. The actual operating limit is determined not only by the thermal stability of the steel discs but also by the lubricant selected.
No, this version is not angle-adjustable. The bearing is sensitive to misalignment between the shaft and the housing. The mounting surfaces of the assembly must therefore be machined to be perfectly flat and at right angles to the axis of rotation.
The supply comprises the axial deep-groove ball bearing, consisting of a shaft washer, a housing washer and a ball-guided sheet steel cage. Spherical washers for compensating for misalignment are not included in the scope of supply.
