The FAG 51106 axial deep-groove ball bearing accommodates pure axial forces in one direction and has compact dimensions of 30 × 47 × 11 mm.
The FAG 51106 axial deep-groove ball bearing is designed as a single-direction rolling bearing for withstanding high axial loads. With an inside diameter of 30 mm, an outside diameter of 47 mm and a height of 11 mm, this component supports shafts in one axial direction. Manufactured from 100Cr6 rolling-bearing steel and fitted with a sheet steel cage, the bearing is suitable for operation in a temperature range from –30 to +150 degrees Celsius.
Designs subject to purely axial loads constitute the primary field of application for the 51106 axial deep groove ball bearing. Typical applications are found in general mechanical engineering in shaft mountings where components must absorb purely axial compressive forces. The component supports the shaft on one side and absorbs axial forces from a single direction. This axial bearing must not absorb radial loads; separate radial bearings must be fitted on the shaft for this purpose.
The 51106 series is not angularly adjustable and is sensitive to misalignment between the shaft and the housing. Precisely perpendicular contact surfaces on the shaft and housing shoulders are essential to prevent edge stresses and premature wear. The bearing complies with tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1) and consists of a shaft ring, a housing ring and the ball-cage assembly without shims. Thanks to the separable components, each bearing ring can be fitted individually and with a precise fit.
This roller bearing has a bore of 30 mm, an outside diameter of 47 mm and a total width of 11 mm. Thanks to these standardised key dimensions, the bearing can be integrated precisely into existing housing and shaft fits.
The component is designed as a single-direction axial bearing and accommodates axial forces from one direction only. It is not designed to accommodate transverse forces; therefore, radial forces must be supported by additional radial bearings on the shaft.
The P0/PN or ABEC 1 classification denotes the standard tolerance for dimensional and running accuracy in industrial roller bearings. This accuracy class is sufficient for the vast majority of applications in conventional mechanical engineering and plant construction under normal speed conditions.
The permissible operating range is from -30 to +150 degrees Celsius. Both the 100Cr6 roller bearing steel and the integrated steel sheet cage retain their dimensional stability within this temperature range, provided that the lubricant used is approved for the relevant temperature.
The 511 bearing series features flat bearing washers and is not angle-adjustable. Even slight angular misalignments between the shaft and the mounting surface in the housing result in uneven loading of the rolling elements; therefore, flat and perpendicular mounting surfaces are essential for smooth running.
The scope of supply includes the functional axial deep-groove ball bearing, comprising the shaft washer, the housing washer and the guided sheet-steel cage with balls. Additional spherical washers for angular compensation are not included in this standard straight version.
