SKF single-row angular contact ball bearing 7213 BECBP with a 65 mm bore, a 40-degree contact angle and a polyamide cage for high combined loads.
The 7213 BECBP angular contact ball bearing is an open, single-row rolling bearing made from standard bearing steel (100Cr6) with a bore of 65 mm, an outer diameter of 120 mm and a width of 23 mm. Thanks to the 40-degree contact angle, this design can accommodate significant axial forces in one direction as well as simultaneously acting radial forces. In the SKF Explorer version, the unit combines dimensional accuracy to tolerance class P6 with running accuracy to class P5.
This bearing is suitable for applications where unidirectional axial loads occur in conjunction with high radial forces. Typical applications include precision shaft guides where defined axial forces must be reliably supported under demanding operating conditions.
Due to its open design without sealing washers, the bearing can be lubricated directly via the lubrication system of the overall plant. The polyamide cage guides the rolling elements quietly within a temperature range of -20 to +120 degrees Celsius.
In O and X arrangements, the bearing pair has low axial play, which simplifies the precise alignment of paired installations. When two bearings are mounted back-to-back, they absorb axial forces from both directions and increase the stiffness of the shaft guidance.
Proper lubrication and protection against contamination are essential for correct operation, as open bearings require clean operating conditions. The tight tolerance class P6 for dimensions and P5 for running accuracy ensures smooth concentricity at higher speeds.
This roller bearing has an inside diameter of 65 mm, an outside diameter of 120 mm and a width of 23 mm. The outer ring has neither a flange nor a groove. Thanks to its standardised main dimensions, the component can be fitted precisely into existing housings and onto suitable shaft seats.
A contact angle of 40 degrees means that the line of action of the forces runs at an angle to the radial plane. As a result, the bearing can accommodate high axial forces in one direction. Compared with smaller contact angles, the axial load capacity is increased at 40 degrees, which is advantageous for shafts subjected to heavy unilateral loads.
The permissible operating range is between -20 and +120 degrees Celsius. One of the limiting factors here is the polyamide cage, which retains its dimensional stability within this range. For applications with different thermal conditions, the operating parameters should be carefully checked against the lubricant in advance.
This SKF model combines dimensional accuracy to Class P6 with running accuracy to Class P5. Compared with standard tolerances, the rings and rolling elements exhibit lower dimensional deviations and improved concentricity. This reduces vibrations during operation and promotes a uniform distribution of forces within the machine component.
When arranged in pairs in an O or X configuration, a small amount of axial clearance is established. This feature enables designers and maintenance engineers to use universally matched bearing pairs without the need for time-consuming fitting. Such a pair counteracts opposing axial forces and stabilises the shaft guidance.
The open angular contact ball bearing has no integrated seals, allowing the lubricant from the surrounding system to circulate freely. It is suitable for enclosed gearbox or machine housings with centralised oil or grease lubrication. In this case, the surrounding structure provides protection against the ingress of particles and dirt.
