SKF single-row angular contact ball bearing 7332 BCBM with a 160 mm bore, 340 mm outer diameter and a brass cage for combined loads.
The SKF 7332 BCBM angular contact ball bearing is a single-row rolling bearing designed to accommodate combined loads from radial and axial forces. Manufactured from standard roller bearing steel (100Cr6), this open, large-size bearing has a tolerance class of P0/PN or ABEC 1 and a standard radial clearance. Thanks to its solid brass cage and wide temperature range of -20 to +200 degrees, this design is suitable for demanding thermal conditions.
This single-row bearing supports radial forces as well as unidirectional axial forces. The pronounced contact angle of 40 degrees allows it to accommodate high axial forces in one direction whilst simultaneously supporting a radial load. For axial loads acting from both sides, the 7332 BCBM angular contact ball bearing can be mounted in pairs in an O or X arrangement, whereby the bearing set has a design-determined low axial clearance.
The 40-degree contact angle directs the resultant force at an angle to the radial plane and supports the mounted shaft against axial thrusts. The dimensionally stable brass cage guides the rolling elements with minimal vibration and withstands thermal stresses. As the bearing is of open design and has no flange on the outer ring, the surrounding housing structure provides the lubrication and acts as a seal against external contaminants.
With a bore of 160 mm, an outside diameter of 340 mm and a width of 68 mm, the bearing complies with standardised large-dimension specifications. Before fitting, ensure that the shaft seat and the housing bore are adjusted to these key dimensions.
The pressure angle describes the inclination of the line of action of the force relative to the radial plane. At 40 degrees, the component absorbs high axial forces in one direction, combined with radial forces. To accommodate alternating axial forces, the components are arranged in pairs in an O or X configuration.
A solid brass cage is characterised by its high strength and ensures that the balls remain on track even under vibrations or shock loads. The material retains its dimensional stability across the entire temperature range from -20 to +200 degrees.
Grease or lubricating oil is supplied directly via the housing design, as the bearing is designed without integrated seals. External sealing elements on the connecting structure protect the interior of the bearing from dirt and moisture and keep the lubricant within the bearing housing.
This version is manufactured with standard radial bearing clearance and to tolerance class P0/PN (ABEC 1). When fitted in pairs in an O or X configuration, the bearing set has a small amount of axial clearance, which contributes to the axial guidance of the shaft.
The angular contact ball bearing is designed for operating temperatures between -20 and +200 degrees. Both the standard rolling-bearing steel 100Cr6 and the brass cage retain their strength within this temperature range. The lubricant used must be suitable for this range.
